I'm your sheriff
As the current Sheriff of Calhoun County, I’ve had the honor of serving our community with dedication, transparency, and a commitment to public service. With two decades of law enforcement experience - rising through the ranks from deputy to captain and now sheriff - I’ve worked in every major division, bureau, or squad of the Sheriff’s Office: Patrol, Detectives, Corrections, School Resources, Court Services, and Communications.
I was appointed sheriff by Governor Kay Ivey based on a record of leadership, integrity, and a clear vision for improving law enforcement in Calhoun County. Since (and before) stepping into the role, I’ve focused on strengthening agency professionalism, creating operational efficiency, improving jail conditions, and building partnerships across a wide cross-section of our community. If it is important to Calhoun County, it is important to me.
But beyond the badge, I’m a husband, father, and lifelong member of this community. I’m a proud graduate of Saks High School. My wife, Kristin, is a small business owner and licensed mental health counselor. I am the proud father of a 13-year-old daughter, Greenlie, and a son, Asa, who will turn 1 in November '25.
Education has played a key role in preparing me for public service. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Faulkner University, a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Criminal Justice from Jacksonville State University, and an Associate of Applied Business in Accounting from Eastern Gateway Community College. I also earned a graduate certificate in Criminal Justice Education from the University of Virginia while attending the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. This education - paired with real-world experience - equip me best to lead with both heart, accountability, and sound logic-based reasoning.
This campaign isn’t just about keeping a title - it’s about continuing a mission. I’m running to ensure we keep building momentum, foster a culture of professionalism within the Sheriff’s Office, and keep Calhoun County a safe and thriving place to live, work, and raise a family.
Thank you for your trust. I’m asking for your vote to continue serving as your sheriff on May 19th, 2026!
